New Fiat enthusiast.

Post by bluespider »

I purchased my 81 Spider in the fall of 2010 with the hopes of having it ready for some summer driving here in Vancouver. My plan was to completely redo the whole car. Having acess to all the knowledge on this forum is a huge step forward. I look forward to sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly with you!

Here is my starting point.

You have a much better starting point than most I've seen. Please post photos as you make improvements and changes.

Hi there . Car looks in decent shape. I'd guess you'll be changing the colour...
As Bruce said, before anyone can write in an agenda on the fathers day weekend this year, slot in a trip to North Van. Hope to see several spiders from here there

I like the colour too!! And the rims. What size/make and tyre size do you use?

The Rims and tires were on the car when I purchased it. The tires are from Canadian Tire - Motomaster P175/75R13 and the rims are by Stilauto. At first I wasn't thrilled by the rims but they are starting to grow on me. I'm not sure where they came from but they do have a "fiat" center cap. Of course that doasn't mean they came from a fiat but they are Italian.

Hi, I'm new to the forum also. I second (third, fourth?) the notion that those are great looking wheels... and on a great looking Fiat!

Hello bluespider
Your rims looked time-correct and nice at the time.
If I read the picture correct, your rims are 6,0x13 with ET 13mm.

Happy driving :)

This is quite an old model and I hope you'll be able to modify and upgrade most of its auto parts to use it properly. Nevertheless, it's a good collection.

Welcome and very nice car. I love those rims. A friend of mine bought a 124 Sport Coupe from Steven Fierst back in 1991 or so and it had those rims on it. They look great and the offset is very nice on the car.

Congrats on finding a fine car and in one of those unusual colors that clearly stands out from the crowd of red '81s kicking around here :D
