Intake Manifold bolt pattern Question

Post by Fiat88 »

It's been a few months but I'm almost ready to bolt on the single plane manifold I bought to use on the '79. Is there are certain bolt sequence I should use to tighten it down? I read I should tighten it to 18 ft-lbs.

BTW, should I use loctite on the threads or maybe just anti-seize? I'm learning here. lol

start in the middle, work out. Make sure the studs are tight. Loctite not necessary. I bought all new hardened lockwashers for mine though.

I coat the threads with RTV or gasket maker as some of the threads pass through coolant passages. This prevents the threads from rusting.

I did the adf swap without changing the manifold worked great it ran the same as a single plane i feel its a mith
that the single plane runs better then the dual on a completely stock engine !

Will Permatex high tack be ok?

I'm sure it will work, point is to protect the threads and provide a little bit of sealant, I like to use permatex #2, I think that is the correct # for the stuff that never hardens.
