New member just checking in - no 124 yet, but got captivated by the 124 Coupe back when they were new, and will be looking for one to potentially replace my '90 Miata. The Mazda's great, but am looking for a change.

Hello and Welcome! I can't think of a prettier place to own and drive a Spider. I try to get out your way once a year; it's even fun in a rental car. The Spider is definitely low-tech compared to the Miata, but you'll see thousands of Mazdas for every one Spider. I think you'll find this forum to be a valuable source of information. One of the oft-repeated suggestions is to "shop carefully". There are a few areas of concern, chiefly regarding rust in critical locations, which is essentially fatal, given the low prices of these cars. This forum has a nifty Search feature, where you can learn about such things. You also have a very knowledgeable owner in Ventura, who is generous with his time. Maybe he can check out prospects you find. Good Luck and let us know how you make out.
