Have a quick question about the location of the Oil Pressure LIGHT Sending Unit....
Is it the one closer to the firewall or closer to the radiator?
I've got a 50/50 chance of getting it right, just want to get it 100% right and can't find a diagram anywhere.
Thanks in advance,
Peter

Re: Oil Pressure LIGHT Sending Unit
If your alternator is on the exhaust side, then there should be two ports, one on the rear side, and one on top. These cars usually had the low oil pressure light on the rear and the oil pressure sender on the top.
If your alternator is on the intake side there are two ports, one on the rear, and one on the front that probably has a brass plug. These cars usually only had the low oil pressure light installed in the rear port. If you wanted to add an oil pressure sender install it in the rear port and install the low pressure light sender in the front port after removing the plug. Route the wire so it does not get caught up in the "V" belt.
It really does not matter which port its installed in as both of the holes are connected and will see the same pressures.

Re: Oil Pressure LIGHT Sending Unit
I just changed my pressure switch and light sender. The light sending unit was originally on the side and the pressure sending unit was on top, but to get the pressure switch off, I had to take off the entire oil filter block. When re-installing, I put the light sending unit on the top and the pressure switch on the side.
