76 Spider in central jersey - new guy

This is the first time I have written anything on an internet forum. I bought my yellow/black 76 spider about a week ago. I love the thing even though it has a handful of problems. I am not good with cars, but with the help of friends I was able to sort some things out. There is a strange cracking noise that seems like its coming from beneath the cabin when I accelerate while letting the clutch out in first gear. I can't for the life of me figure this out. If anyone has had this problem I would appreciate some advice. I'll be posting pictures soon.

Cracking or clunking? If clunking sounds like he driveshaft center support, cracking maybe the clutch cable needs to be lubed or the clutch pedal might be twisted where the cable attached.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I wish I could make it this Sunday but I have plans. I have checked out the site. Nice cars, hopefully I'll be seeing you guys in June. Thanks for the advice lanciaf. Unfortunately, I won't be able to look under the hood for the next two weeks to see what's up with that noise. It's like a clicking noise, really strange.

Hey New Jersey Fiat Lovers,

I am in central jersey also, Somerset/Hunterdon County. I haven't made it to a meeting yet but I look forward to it. It will be a bit of a ride, but I got a good ride to do it in. Just need to find some back roads, it's more fun that way.
