Howdy from South Texas

Post by Rattler »

Hi fellow Fiat lovers! I am new as a forum member but have enjoyed the sage advice and interesting content for years. I owned a 73 Spider with the 1592 motor for about fifteen years. Our baby is now with a family member who has the time and resources to fully restore it. Now, five years later we are back in the market for an early Spider, so the search is on and I am sure we will find the right one soon. Already reconnected with so many great Fiat friends all over the US and it is fun to be back!

Rattler, where are you in S. Texas. I'm in SA and there are only a handful in this area.

Makes sense. Are you a Reagan Rattler? I live just up the street in Rogers Ranch. Do you currently own a Spider? About six months ago my car broke down and I had to push it back up the street to the garage. I don't think folks in our area are use to seeing a car broken down and actually being pushed. If you take the spider out or are going to a car show let me know and we can talk Spiders over a beer.

Forgive my lack of response. I am afriad I fail miserably at most forms of social media as I am not dedicated to managing conversations very well. Yes, we have our second Rattler at Reagan now and he is a very involved young man. Fiats and other cars of interest are lots of fun, but supporting our boys is at the top of the list. Yes, our neighborhoods are great but probably not too many cars around here being pushed home. Bet it still looked great even then! And no, I do not currently have a Spider but I am getting close!

I'll keep my eyes open for a nice Spider. A mutual friend has told me your looking for an early model year. Maybe a 1608. I understand the priority with the kids. I'm in the same boat with three of them. One at Central, another at Providence and the third at Rolling Hills. Summer swim season just started.
