Fan mount doesn't match radiator???

Got a 81 FI. and the right side electric fan mounts don't match the rad. Left side has the one mount and the lower on the R side bolts up but the upper is up against the air filter cover, a couple inches above the rad bolt hole. Is there diffrent fan mounts/radiators? PO did replace rad and fan last year trying to fix an overheating problem.

The rads from the 1608 and 1438 are smaller than the 2L rads and the fan assemblys won't match. The 2 L is obviously bigger and needs the bigger rad. I don't know about the rads from the 1800 though.

Passenger side holes in rad flange are approx 5 1/2 apart and the fan mount ears are approx 8 1/2 apart if that helps. The PO replaced all this stuff just to find out the sensor was bad.
His mechanic was a moron or thief.
