Doesnt look like the hoses were switched recently. Had to pry hose 2 off and that port and hose are much bigger than hose 3 and where it is. Hose 3 does run back along the frame along the drivrs side and disappears.

Hard to imagine it would have been hooked up like that for a while with gas coming out of the canister but who knows. Your canister is probably shot now with the infusion of gas. There is a thread recently where someone on eBay is selling new ones. Probably worth picking one up in the future or you might try refurbishing yours. I believe you can pour the old carbon out and replace with new carbon that can be purchased at a pet store.gallera wrote:Doesnt look like the hoses were switched recently. Hope this corrects your gas leakage problem.

Anything is worth a try. Looking for a good fiat mechanic. Know any in eastern wa?
Re: Gas Vapr Filter
Eastern Wa?? I'm from Kennewick originally, now in LIbby MT which is really not very far away. Where you at??
I would not bother changing canister/charcol, no reason to. You have more important issues.
Your original post says something about "gasket sealer used on carb" is that when issues started?? Sealer should NOT be used on carb. If that is when issue started, I would say there is something wrong with carb.

New development. I swapped the hoses and the car wouldn't start. Swapped them back and car started. Vapor filter filled with gas and didn't spurt just overflowed when idleing.
Re: Gas Vapr Filter
Im in Mabton about 45 minutes from tri-cities. Originsl problem was a gas leak between hoses 2 & 3. Sealant was used and all was well for about half an hour and then the spewing began. Its down to a trickle but still a leak.

That just makes no sense. Pm me your phone number and I can call you. This typing is just not working well.gallera wrote:New development. I swapped the hoses and the car wouldn't start. Swapped them back and car started. Vapor filter filled with gas and didn't spurt just overflowed when idleing.

I tired it again, swapped the hoses, said a little prayer and guess what, it started right up! Thanks CajunMike for the call and the information! I'm back on the road and enjoying the sunshine!
