Hello from Israel

Post by SpiderWannabe »

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately I'm very much spiderless at the moment but working very hard to change this situation.
Never had one.
Way back I've owned a nice Lancia coupe, and not long ago the Italian bug crept back into my mind...
Started looking on ebay and craigs for a nice spider that won't burn a hole in my pocket.
Only problem is that customs regulations (+shipping) in my country makes every potential car climb to 3 times it's price.
I guess I'm looking for something in the neighborhood of 4-5k (which eventually is going to cost me around 12-15k  )

So...I've registered here trying perhaps to find a bargain and also learn a few things of this lovely car which, hopefully,
I'll get to taste firsthand.

Thanks and have a good one
Alan

Good luck with your search. I was able to help another person from your country a few years ago with parts. We ran into the same issue When the box of parts got to customs. It cost the poor guy a bundle to pick the parts up. They are relentless in their pursuit of money!

Ever changing count of parts cars....It's a disease!

Thanks. Relentless they are.
And then there's the cherry on top:

1. You cannot import a "collectors car" unless it's at least 30 years old
2. You cannot drive it between 7 and 9 am
3. You cannot sell it for 3 years
4. You're forbidden to go over 50mph

I'll be grateful if anyone who knows of a 1979-81 for sale, to drop me a mail. It's ilan@bug.co.il

Thanks again
