I am new to the Fiat world. Just bought a 77 124 Spider. Nice straight car with almost no rust. The previous owner rebuilt the stock carb (very poorly) and it is a bear to start. Intend to replace carb with 34ADF. I removed the smog pump and hoses associated with it. Question? There is a lot of other stuff on the motor which doesn't seem to be conducive to good performance. Does anyone have a link to how to get rid of all of it, while replacing the carb?

Hi Bernie,

Welcome to the forum. Great bunch of folks here always willing to help out.
If you already removed the air pump you can pretty much follow all the connecting lines and plug them. The 34 ADF will have fewer connections to worry about than the 32 ADFA.

The most obvious is the air manifold on top of the head, egr etc. You can also eliminate about half of your relays, but I believe the 77 has them under the dash rather than on the side of the engine bay. Others will chime in I'm sure.

Nice thing about AZ is you can register the car as a collector vehicle and avoid emissions. Just get insurance through a company like Hagerty for about $100/yr and take that to the DMV for registration.

There is a local chapter of FLU in the valley as well. Not a lot of spiders in the group yet, but that may change if we can all get our cars back together.
