Hello there fellow fiat enthusiasts,
June 2010 purchased fiat
Amazing ride! however, so far, difficult to keep on the road.
Within the first few days of owning this auto, the right side brake hose burst. unfortunately, the hardline had to be pulled with it. Balmy summer evenings memories keep the spirit alive. while, this little fiat is no stranger to jack stands and curse words.
next step, clutch pedal assembly. pedal forks are the problem. Any advice for a newbie?

Hello and welcome. New ownership of an old car is often a learning experience
I'm sure you'll get her (him?) sorted in no time; those of us in northern climes have an entire season to inspect and repair
While you're working on the clutch pedal, inspect for cracks in the firewall

Hi Mea! Nice car - hope you get the glitches ironed out.
I just bought a Spider this month, so I will have issues to post as well.
Love to see pix of your AMF Harley 175.

Mea, welcome and congratulations. Hopefully you'll have dependable Spider transportation soon.
Re: 1978 fiat spider 124
OK, I received the (replacement) clutch pedal via FedEx from Midwest Bay-less Italian Auto today. The weathers good. So, I am going to do this! yeah! ... I'am a little apprehensive. This is the second phase of the three step trouble shoot process. First, replace cable (done that.) Second, replace pedal assembly (todays project.) Finally, replace the clutch. Faced with having to replace the clutch system leaves me a little weak in the knees. Project completion for replacing said clutch? no doubt, at best, two weeks. well, hopefully replacing the pedal forks works! we shall see.

The only major hassle with replacing the clutch pedal is geting cable T in place. be sure and grease the fork before puting the cable in. Best way is to put the cable in the fork before puting it up into place and having someone keep a little tension on the other end of the cable so it wont slip out of place. Easier said than done. That return spring is a big hassle as well.

You can get the return spring hooked a little easier if you install coins or washers between the coils to lengthen the spring. Once you push the pedal all the coins will pop out into the floorboard.
