Hello from Plano, TX

Post by texasmojo »

Good morning all! I should be picking up my '82 Pininfarina 2000 in the next two weeks. We made the purchase agreement right before the current owners went on vacation. It's out of state, so I will fly up and drive it back. Since it has no A/C I'll be driving back at night (and install the A/C as fast as possible - 29 days in a row over 100F here).

I wanted one of these cars all through HS and finally will have one! Paint is 5 years old (original color) and everything works, just needs A/C, new carpet and a few other minor cosmetics. Can't wait to get my hands on this little jewel and look forward to sharing my experience (and getting great advice from all of you).

Welcome to the forum! You Texas boys have really had it tough this year. We'd like to hear more about the a/c install when you get a chance, along with pics of your new car.

Thanks for the welcome. It's been a bit rough. Today we got to 110F.

I have a friend who has recommended a local Fiat/Alfa mechanic so I'll probably let him do the install. I'm pretty handy but not with autos (yet)! I will definitely let you know when and how it goes.

If you're in Plano... You may try contacting Robert Rogers at Shadetree in Nevada They have been working on only Fiat for better than 20 years. Tell them I said hi.

Ramsi-
Thanks for the info! Actually, a friend of mine from college had them do the work on his car years ago and highly recommended Shade Tree as soon as he found I was buying mine. Looking forward to lots of fun (and a little work) with this little jewel.
