Found the schematic online. Just double checking before I install.
I've got 2 pairs of wires (Violet and Gray) running to the speakers.
The rest of the cut wires have been tested as follows:
White/Black spots - continuous 12V
White/Black Spots - Ground?
Brown - keyed 12V
The schematic shows a black wire I assume is for ground? Can't locate that yet in my harness.
Looks like the Brown will be used for keyed power.
Should I make my own ground ? Not sure if the White/Black spot one would be the correct choice.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Salvaging a Radio Wiring Harness - Need to ID
82spider, I did this about six months ago. I have a black ground wire. Your speaker wires sound like they are the same as my 82. However, I'm now going to look back at the set up because i do not recall having a continous 12 volt just the power keyed from the ignition and I don't recall that being brown. It was red or yellow for power from ignition. I'm going to get back under there within the next few months to install a new shift boot and sound deadening/insulation. Too hot in darn garage right now. 102 in San Antonio.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!

Thanks.
I'm just going by what wires have been cut under here.
I'm guessing the 12V continuous may have been sourced from the power window harness (no power windows in mine).
For what purpose I don't know. The dead White/Black spot may power up with the lights. Not sure.
The brown one checks out on the schematic as the "+" coming into the radio.
It also shows a black that I assume would be the "-".

as for you go get a testlight.
you need to KNOW or you cuold fry your radio and/or blow some fuses.

Re: Salvaging a Radio Wiring Harness - Need to ID
I've got a multi-tester.
The wiring so far has not been radio friendly.
Didn't blow the unit/fuses, but the power sources were not sufficiently providing 12v.
Had the courtesy light dimming / robbing power from the radio.
Ran 2 grounds before powering up.
I'll try running power off the switch and continuous from the cigarette lighter as suggested.
This is a low buck tuner. No great loss if something goes awry.
Looks like the opening is going to be an issue too.
Just a hair too small to accept the receiver frame.

Re: Salvaging a Radio Wiring Harness - Need to ID
Got it all done without bugs.
For future reference:
12V continuous - Red cigarette lighter
12V keyed - Brown wire formerly used for OEM radio
Ground(s) - made my own. 1 off the receiver casing / the other off the receiver harness.
Both terminating at the spade terminal located above the ignition on the dash frame.
Violet and Gray wires run to the speakers.
White/Black spotted wires were individually capped.
They originally went to the OEM radio (I think) but caused power supply/ground issues when I tried to use them.
It's been at least 20 years since I wired up a store bought radio.
The whole unit with speakers cost $81. CD / MP3 input / AM/FM / charging dock.
This is a "Dual" receiver with "HD" 5.25 speakers. Wal-Marts finest
All hardware is black which blends in perfect with the black/tan interior:

Sounds excellent. About 40 watts per channel.

This one spun out and kinked the DS quarter.
Sat for 10+ years dry storage before we rescued it.
Only 18k. No rust ever.
