Battery charge light 73 model

Post by 124spiderman »

Battery charge light came on the other day, traced the problem to blown charge light relay (the one that sits next to the external voltage reg on inner left guard).

Maybe you could load up the electrical system at idle (headlights, heater fan, wipers, etc.) and see if it illuminates. Artificially lower the idle speed if necessary.

Ok...
Light fixed. Comes on when ignition on, goes off when car starts, comes on if engine cuts out...just like it should.
However, just how hot should the relay get? I noticed it gets quite hot.....Normal? :?
