Spider bit in Memphis

Post by Strace »

First, I'm glad I found this forum. I felt confident purchasing this 1977 Spider thanks in large part to all the information, research and lessons learned posted here. I look forward to learning more from you guys/gals as I get to know my Spider.

It's very straight and appears original. Paint code is 312 (Dark Green), so it's obviously had a repaint. I would have bought a red one new, so I'll probably keep it red. Looks like the motor matches (132A1.040.6, although I could only find engine codes for 1977 ending in .5 ???). After buying it, I drove it close to a hundred miles home in 100 degree heat with no issues. I've got to do the common sense maintenance, change fluids, belts, hoses, etc, as I don't know much about it's history but I'm thrilled with my $1200 Spider.
