hello from Minneapolis, MN

Post by hulzy »

While I have been gleaning lots of info and ideas from this form, I have decided to finally say hello. I am on my second fiat, the first being a 1980 that my wife and I literally drove into the ground with no knowledge of how to take care of it. I have since acquired an abused 1985 that has been cosmetically abused but has run great for me since dec 2009. To make short of this story my waterpump went out, so I decided to also change timing belt [42,000 miles] As I found out the crankshaft pulley bolt is a lefthand thread whereas my shop manual says it is a righthand nut. Guess what, broken bolt in crankshaft. If I would have read in this form just a bit more I would have found my answer. By the way bolt is 22mm not 24mm. But is has been fun working on this car. Pictures to come. Thank you all for the many ideas Ive acquired and hope to do. Cio.
