As promised, here is a 4-minute video of my headlamps in action. 7" Cibie E-code with Osram 70/65 watt H4 bulbs. These bulbs are rated at only 100 hrs. on hi-beam and 200 hrs. on low, but they sure put out a lot of light. I aimed these on the garage wall, and they might be too low. I think my mechanic has a beamsetter; will know next week.

Re: Head lights
Spent this weekend trying to knock out a few Spider projects, including swapping out the sealed beam units for the Bosch replacements from BusDepot - couldn't pass up that price! I also went ahead and did the IAP headlight relay kit. The relay kit is good - except for the length of the power lines (obviously designed for cars with the alternator on the driver's side of the car) - no big deal though to add some wire.
A very nice, worthwhile upgrade!

Re: Head lights
Hi,
I was committed to the Cibies until I found this thread, figured $60 (bulbs and shipping) for 98% performance vs ~$200 was more than compelling.
Got them in last-last weekend, decided I needed new buckets so I still haven't buttoned them up or even aimed them yet (found two nice used buckets on eBay), but the pattern is there, the brightness is there and for $4 more than a pair of locally sourced Sylvania halogen sealed beams, these Bosch lights from BusDepot are a no-brainer.
Also: Did the IAP headlamp relay kit as well, BEST single $40 one can spend on their Spider, in my cash-hemorrhaging opinion.
Thanks, and ciao,
Mark

Re: Head lights
Mine turned up in the post a while back, I haven't fitted it yet. Hopefully it won't be too difficult to get it to fit a RHD 131.opus10583 wrote:Also: Did the IAP headlamp relay kit as well, BEST single $40 one can spend on their Spider, in my cash-hemorrhaging opinion.

Alternator on the driver's side you should be fine, if upside down!131 wrote:Mine turned up in the post a while back, I haven't fitted it yet.
