Well I started ripping out the interior with fears that the floor pans were going to be rusted out...my fears were confirmed on the drivers side...are there normally three circles in the floors? sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.
passengers side doesn't appear to be too terrible, but I didn't get to the foot end of the floors yet

I also discovered that my car apparently used to be the darker redish/brown color, question to you guys is *when* I get it repainted would you go back to original color? or the brighter red that it was painted to?

Thanks for looking! I'm having a blast ripping into this thing

I do like the brighter red!
I like the white also, but I have a white truck now...need to change her up a bit! Now if I can patch the holes, and fuel lines, brakes, gaskets......well I think you get the idea hah

Well the black tar like stuff on the floors is proving to be a pain in my butt! Why are there the rubber grommets it the floors? Seems to me that is about the only places I'm getting rust holes?

You can get rid of the black tar like stuff by getting some dry ice and leaving it on the floor for 10 minutes or so and then remove the dry ice. Grab a hammer and start banging on the floor and the tar stuff will chip right off as it will have shrunk more when its cold than the steel and will come right off in chunks and chips. Repeat as needed..

On the first page of my thread here, I was told that my sensor on the water tee was upside down.
Does the black wire running into the yellowish sensor unplug?
and then do I just switch the sensor in the other place where there is a threaded plug?

Thanks for the help

Your sensor is in the wrong position because your T is in upside down. Apparently. The plug needs to be pointed up. To check if the plug and the sensor weren't just switched (they both have the same threads) you'd need to take off the T. One side is restricted, this side should face the hose coming from the top of your radiator.

I'm thinking it could be a bad fuel pump? I don't really hear it kicking in at all....

The fuel pump is triggered by movement of the air flow meter door, so it won't come on until you start to crank the motor. I can't hear mine either. If you suspect low fuel pressure, I would suggest borrowing a fuel pressure gauge from an auto parts store and check the pressure. My 82 sat 8 years and after I had the tank cleaned at a radiator shop and new fuel, I had to crank it quite a bit before it started to sputter and finally ran. But make sure it has clean plugs and good spark before you burn up your starter.

How long has it been since the car last ran? Once you get it running you will want to change the timing belt and run some fuel injector cleaner through the first tank or two of gas.

Thanks for the reply.
It sat for roughly 6 years. So I guess new plugs will be my next step.
How hard is it to change the timing belt?

Thanks.
