Hello from Seattle. I am so pleased to have found this website and look forward to receiving and providing some help from time to time. I have a very nice 71 Spider in overall good condition. My wife bought this one in 1972 and it have been garaged eversince. There are lots of electrical issues, but as a EE (haven't done any real engineering in years) I enjoy chasing wiring problems. My father always advised me do not get involved with cars or televisions and the EE world would be a fine profession. "Stick to missiles and guidance systems, son". OK, so I didn't listen to Dad and crawled under the dash of the Fiat. I would be dead meat without the Fiat Owners Workshop Manual and a strong magnifying glass. The wiring diagrams are actually quite accurate. I have found it easiest to make my own of the area of interest. For instance it only takes a few minutes to make a trace of the rear light wiring, starting at the fuses, exterior light switch, etc. Then you do not have to try to read such fine print while you are actually in the car. I used to have an XK-E and while it always turned heads, I gets lots of thumbs up in the Spider on a sunny day in Seattle. :)
