Whatsup from Utah Valley!

Post by btgille »

Hi everyone!
I bought a brown 78 spider about 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it !

I had gotten bored at work while eating lunch, browsed some local web classifieds and found it for dirt cheap... and it was just maybe a mile and a half from where I lived, though I'd never seen it around. So, I stopped by on the way home from work to check it out and ended up buying it pretty much on the spot!
As far as I was told, it had only had 2 previous owners, which were grandmother and granddaughter. They had even mentioned that they'd been using a mechanic that I've known since I was just a kid.

I guess I'd become bored of my reliable, predictable, Honda Civic, which I'm keeping for winter-time, and needed another car that I'd need to put a little TLC into. Prior to the Civic I drove an 87 Series 3 Jaguar XJ6 that I worked on. If you think Fiat parts are hard to find (and they really aren't), praise God that they aren't hard to find AND very expensive. But I think half the fun of owning a car is throwing on a fresh coat of wax, getting under the hood, learning how everything works... all that fun stuff. And it doesn't hurt when all the ladies are staring at you while you're driving it as well... I've already had a few people at stop lights asking me about my sweet ride.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to many years of fun with this car. :D

Welcome! I'm just up the road from ya in SLC.
And I ALSO own a Jag as a 2nd (or maybe 3rd?) car. Mine is an '04 'X-type' (the "Baby-Jag")
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!
