car: 1972 Fiat Spider
problem: no turn signals, brake lights, hazard switch not doing anything
symptoms: blown fuse
-replaced the fuse, still nothing.
-I'm familiar with volume of issues if one of the round style hazard
switches goes on a later model spider, but am I looking at some of
the same issues if the hazard switch on an earlier car goes?
Hehe, just need to limp along till I can properly find a weekend to
trace all the wiring in the car and clean all the grounds.

Did the fuse blow again? The first thing I would do is check the ground at the taillamp. Mine have a curious way of loosening for no apparent cause.
Do your gauges and backup lights work? They are all on the same fuse. If not, you may want to clean the little prongs that hold the fuse in.
Clean the prongs on the hazard switch and the female connectors to get good contact. I believe in my heart that every single hazard switch is wired differently. I just went through this same scenario with my 72 and thought I'd pull my hair out.

I could be the flasher unit. Located under the dash between the steering column and the radio console by the ground pod. Looks like an aluminum cylinder 1 inch diameter by 1 1/2 tall. A new unit is like 3-4 bucks at local parts store.
Not sure if thats the "actual" problem but a cheep way to eliminate second guessing.
