i know what i did == mistakenly grounded the diode on the back of the fuel guage which would blow the last fuse on the right so i removed the diode and now the fuel gauge jumps around when below 1/2 tank.
so i need a new diode == i think it's a 1N4004 (reseached some posts on here)
am i right???
PS be carefull installing LED dash lights i'm currently using 3 blue LED bulbs in each guage because there so dim and yes i have 12 vdc and good grounds .

Yup, if it starts jumping to zero and eventually stays there (until you fill up again) then it's the sending unit.

Re: jumping fuel guage
damn skippin == it was the fuel sending unit== went to advance auto bought a universal for $16 and fitted the windings to the original
Re: jumping fuel guage
Mine jumps around too, but only when I'm moving and it never goes all the way to 0. That's just because of the fuel sloshing around in the tank, right? Or is the needle supposed to be rock solid during acceleration/deceleration?
