Mark in Arizona

Post by markhenry01 »

Well, I did it. I just bought a 1978 124 Spider.
Once the brakes are fixed, I'm going to bring er home and start the explorations.

Hi Mark -- welcome! Glad to have another AZ person aboard :)

If you're ever in the Tucson area let me know. I'd be glad to share what I've found for who-does-what around here for Fiats! There's also some really nice drives (83/Sonoita Wine Country, 191 from Morenci to Alpine, Mt Lemmon Highway, Kitt Peak, etc.) that make having a Spider a real pleasure.

Hi everyone. Such a warm welcome, very much appreciated. I'm living in Phoenix and will look up some of you AZ folks when I get the carrito squared away. I did the brown wire and the headlight relays, so I can see and be seen. Then, a weekend under the car to redo the brakes. That's two out of three. Next, the engine leaks.
I bought the Spider from a very nice fellow here in town. He had it four years and put about 5 grand into it before pulling the plug. Repaired cross member, new ball joints & A rams. Water pump and more. It was a California car before, yay, no rust.
I will post pictures when I figure out how to do that here.
Thanks again everyone.
Mark

There used to be a Fiat club in Phoenix - back in the early 90s was when I last went. Any idea if it still meets?

I don't think the Fiat Fanatics group from years ago exists anymore, but I could be wrong.

here in Prescott AZ there are at least 4 spiders, 2 600D, 850 Racer. Maybe we can get a North - South meet up in the Phoenix area some day! You will find this forum a great resource. every time you see your Fiat you will smile, every time you drive it you will grin.

I smell a road trip in the air. I wont be roadable for a while, probably late spring at the earliest. once the heat hits, prescott sounds very nice.
