Key in ignition warning buzzer
Key in ignition warning buzzer
My key warning buzzer (1978) makes and awful noise so I would like to disconnect it. Either wire removed BW or Brn kills the buzzer. Will removing either of the wires affect any other component or circuit? psg

Re: Key in ignition warning buzzer
can you put in the key and locate the buzzer
then unplug it
then unplug it
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

Re: Key in ignition warning buzzer
Yeah, I have already disconnected the buzzer but I am wondering if the fix for the noise will create a problem in some other circuit.
Everything seems to continue to work just wondering if there will be another problem before I put everything back in place.
Anyone ever put in a replacement bell off another car or from Radio Shack? psg

Mine is under the glove compartment box (has to be removed to access it). It was disconnected with no ill effects.

Re: Key in ignition warning buzzer
I have my stereo wired into the buzzer power wire so it comes on when
the key is in the ignition. Works great.

Re: Key in ignition warning buzzer
A quick look at the wiring tells me that there is nothing else on that circuit. It's just power (+12v) coming from the ignition switch and ground. Shouldn't cause any problems.
