I'm no good with wiring diagrams. What is this wire for? Brown connector. It's on a 1981 2000

Yes, that's the connector that receives a signal from the thermo/time switch. On cold start the thermo/time switch passes 12V up to the cold start valve for a few seconds to give you a richer mixture.

All right! That's the one that gives people the most headache to replace, being in such an awkward place. After it's hooked up you can check whether it's working properly by putting a noid light on the connector at the cold start valve. During cold starts the light should stay on continuously for a few seconds (maybe 6-10) then shut off.

The PO had messed around with the cold start wiring and put a switch under the front dash. They never finished wiring it, so I have no idea what they were doing. Maybe it won't work. Who knows. Only time will tell. LOL. I cleaned up all their wiring so I could start from square one.
