Hello from Scotland!

Post by Jocky »

What a great site..!

I'm a self confessed Fiat Nutter.

I have a Black 1982 Fiat Spider CSO FI, with some subtle mods.
Engine...Fiat Strada 130tc. With 132 Argenta oilpan.
Gearbox...Fiat 131/Brava sport with Abarth remote shift, shortened propshaft.
ECU...Using Lancia Beta 2000, as ECU isn't looking for catalyst.
Brakes...Front, Fiat Marea 257mm vented discs. Rear, standard.
Steering...Right hand drive converted.

I have raided the Fiat group parts bin for my mods, but I think it's testement the inherent excellent design that years later we can still use parts from newer designs.

My love affair started years ago when I got a Fiat Mirafiori for the Winter months (I used bikes in the summer) The thing I liked most about the Fiats, was of course the engine! after that I was hooked.

I bought the Spider in 2003, which was imported from San Diago..then began a nut and bolt restoration, I will post a photo if i can work out how to (P.C. Novice!)

Rgds,

Jocky.

Welcome !
How can it be that the british are so keen on open-tops, considering the notorius rain :)
Jokes aside, you have a very interesting setup. Beside my spiders I have a 130 TC too - I know how addictive this engine can be. And the fuel consuption is somewhere in the middle between my FI CS0 and the VX - if that should matter.

When you have a nice car, you need some nice roads. I guess you have some favourites somewhere in your area? 'Cruising' or 'fast road'?
