Rear License plate mounting - SOLVED

Post by CLudwig »

Even the simplest of things are turning into a pain on this FIAT of mine!
Right now I’m just trying to install the license plate. As you can see in the picture, there are 2 square holes in the bottom, none on top.

I’m assuming there is some missing screw mount that needs to go into the bottom, and about the top I have no idea! Any help appreciated!

I don't see a need to drill top holes; the bottom two should hold fine. Stainless bolts from the front, stainless, then silicone washers for water protection (mabe a daub of RTV for extra sealing), and a washer and locknut on the inside.

thanks for the ideas guys. I found the top hole, previous owner had painted over it. I'm going to be doing a full restore, including stripping and repainting the back end here. I'm trying to avoid "rigging" it. Is there a part that fits the square hole which would allow me to attach the plate?
