Hello everyone! Just purchased my first fiat. It should arrive at the house on or about February 4th on the truck. Will post pics when I get it here. Pretty good example with a pretty clean body (thank god), only a surface scratch that rusted over on the trunk and a small dent on right front fender with a little superficial surface rust. New top needed, but interior, engine, floor pans, shock towers all in great shape.
I have been surfing what I can to find out as much as I can on the forum about these sporting little machines. My 'toy' history has mostly been of the German variety. Looking to learn a little eye-talian.
Thanks for input and assistance in advance! Looking forward to her arrival!

HA! In my excitement to say hello and make my first post, I forgot to mention the car is a 124 spider, dk blue with beige interior. Black vinyl top, think I am going to change that to tan as well, cloth or vinyl?

Re: Hello from O-HI-O!!
Welcome. We look forward to seeing pics of your new ride. Where in Ohio are you? There are Fiat Lancia Unlimited chapters in various part of the midwest, Detroit, West Michigan, Indiana (Indianapolis area). You have Midwest 124 and Midwest Bayless in Columbus, Ohio so parts are easily available for you.
Speaking of parts you should plan on some fix it activities once you receive your new toy: timing belt, all fluids (coolant, transmission, brake fluid, rear end), new hoses (cooling and brakes) and of course general maintenance. Never trust the PO (previous owner), they didn't do what they should have done in the past.
All the best
Karl

Thanks Karl! I have a semi to-list ready to go. The timing belt was first on it. The owner has "all receipts since new" and workshop manuals included with vehicle. The last maintanence was all wheel bearings and an oil change...last fall...so we shall see when the tbelt was done. Car is coming out of Portland area.

HAHA! everyone is welcome. But they alll say Cleveland is a good place to be from...not necessarily live...especially in winter.
Anyone know of a good fiat mechanic in the Cleveland area? East side would be preferable. There is a indy ferrari mech on the west side, thought about giving him a call if I get really stuck on anything.
Thanks
