Hello, this is Ed from Florence, AZ. Purchased a 1975 Spider about a month ago, drove it for about a week and a half and decided to park it and give it some TLC on the motor, drive train, and suspension. Odometer reads 35K, not sure if that's original miles or not. Has all the original pieces of the car, with the exception of the wheels. I was told that the wheels are Abarth racing wheels. I'll post pictures later to see if I can get help identifying them. Cosmetically, the car is in beautiful shape.
Mechanically, it needs some work. I have already replaced the stock carb with an EMPI from Allisons, and I am in the process of of replacing the all of the front seals. Thank God for this website, made a world of difference in getting the crankshaft nut off.
Next will be the brakes and suspension, then the drive train.

A year ago I bought a 1975 and I've been having fun getting it into running shape. Like you I upgraded the carb with an EMPI 32/36 DFEV from Allisons as well as many more upgrades. Don't make the mistake I did and keep detailed records and a spreadsheet of expenses. It is scary how much money I've "invested" thus far
I've received a LOT of great advice on this forum. So welcome indeed and post pictures when you can. We love pictures of Spiders.

Greetings and welcome. I'm from AZ too but currently reside in TX (Army). There seems to be a fair amount of Spider activity in AZ. This is a great website!

I had planned on just using a breaker bar and socket, but I read a post about drilling a hole in the radiator mount to allow an extension to pass thru. Drilled the hole, used an impact driver and off came the nut!
