Hello from San Antonio, Tx! Found the site while I was still hunting for a car. I think I found one, I'm heading up to look at it and (possibly) buy it on Sunday! Can't wait!!! It's a red 1979, the guy said everything is in working order and that it had been in storage for a few years until last year.
Hoping to come home with a new baby! Wish me luck!
Ryan

Re: Hi all!
That is awesome. Good luck. Where are you getting the baby? I hear kidnapping is a serious offence.

Hahaha, I'll try not to kidnap it... I'm getting it in Gordon Texas. Got a buddy that's gonna ride up with me to drive my daily driver home.

Re: Hi all!
I bought the car today! Well half bought it, the guy put it on his trailer and is driving it down tomorrow for me (and an extra 100 bucks haha).
I need an opinion though. The car looks great, and the only place with rust is the foot and seat pans, but they're fairly bad... I looked at the shock towers and firewall and the frame-like stuff(i know it's uniframe), the only spots are the foot and seat pans. The bottom looks like it was sprayed, but the rust spots came from inside I'm guessing. How bad is rust in those spots would y'all say?

Hello there, that is one shiny car. How is it mechanically ? You will find lots of help here and I thinkthere are others here that live in S A.

Mechanically sound from what I could tell so far. Needs some use to get things moving smoothly again and bleeding systems massively.
The paint is beautiful! Just a few little chips. From what I gathered it had been painted by the guy that sold it to the guy i bought from. The car had been in storage for 4 years or more, then sold to the guy i bought it from 2 years ago and sat in his big metal building for a year. He took it out last summer and got it fixed to running and inspected, new pumps all around and a new carb and timing belt, then he put it back in the building.
Hasn't seen a lot of light, can't wait to change that!

oh new roof last summer too. he said, "I got the top put on and it went back in the building so the sun never hit it to warm it up and stretch it any so it's really tight still."
