Has anyone did this install yet? We had a thread on it once.http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic ... g&start=15
I'm just wondering how sensitive this thing will be, don't want the car turning off if I hit a big bump but do want the safety it offers. Can I install it near the dash so I could reset it easily if it does trip? Anyone know? Thanks.

Hitting bumps wont trip the fuel cut off, there is not enough acceleration. I have had several Fords w/ FI and never had to reset the fuel cut off.

Thanks for the link! That's cool that a relay is wired up also for the pump. It's a little more the I wanted to spend though but just the inertia switch looks to sell at about $55 at Ford dealer, so maybe not such a bad deal.
I saw some used ones on ebay from reputable sellers for around $15 with the wiring pigtails included. Anyone think I could make my own kit for less then that? What kind of relay would I need?

Could I mount it somewhere near the drivers dash so if it trips on a rare occasion I could reset it easier?

I've had my Ford inertia switch for about 5000 miles now and I've never had to reset it, so I wouldn't worry about needing it within reach. I mounted mine in the trunk on the verticle brace right behind the left wheel well, a good solid spot and it's wired in series with the pump, no relay needed.

I had a lowered ford Escort when I was young and dumb. I hit a big pot hole one time and tripped the switch. One of my friends ran over a 2x4 on the freeway and their's tripped, so it can happen. The escort's was in the trunk and the exploder's was under the pass side dash.

Afer doing some research I found that 321 906 059 C relay may not work with CDI ignition systems. My '79 has electronic ignition, is this a CDI system? Seems people who used this relay have the earlier points. Anyone know? Thanks.
