Thanks Mark however, they are not phillips they are Torx (pronounced "torks") developed in 1967 by Camcar Textron,is the trademark for a type of screw head characterized by a 6-point star-shaped pattern. People who are unfamiliar with the trademark generally use the term star, as in star screwdriver or star bits. The generic name is hexalobular internal driving feature.

With such a thorough description and history of the torx bolt , I would have thought the size would have been easy for you.

Then there are the "Security" Torx, with a pin in the center so you need a special (uncommon availability) driver with a recess in the center to engage the pattern! <{:^)

My 1973 has #3 Phillips. Perhaps they changed to Torx by 1980. As far as I'm concerned, the best replacement is a cap screw. Don't forget the thread sealant. Sorry, I forgot the size.

that makes two of us LMFAO! I found that on the web. Sadly my bolts got into the hands of my little mechanic (aka 4 yr old son) I will do my best at Canadian Tire or Home Depot to find some that fit. Thanks to all.

If you put regular bolts torx or allen, you will have problem because the height of the head is to high and it will interfer with the sliding mecanism

I'm quite familiar with torx bolts, but I've never seen them used in a Spider in any location

I meant no dis respect Mark. I merely put the info up to help clarify my request. That being said, when I did have the Torx bolts in there was never any issues with interference.
