New Owner in Ottawa.

Post by 1983SpiderEuropa »

Hello,
I just picked up a 83. It runs and drives great. Needs a top and some body work. I guess the first thing I should do is change the belt since I can't be sure how old it is. There are lots of little things that need to be fixed but thats why I bought it.

Hello and welcome to the best place to care for your Fiat. There are several Canadians that are very active here. Pretty good guys but one that close may need to keep a sharp eye on him.

Hi,

A friend of a friend has a '84 in Ottawa. I just sold him some parts to rebuild his diff.

When you change the timing belt check on the condition of the tensioner and the waterpump.
Don't forget to rotate the engine 2 revolutions by hand before you start it up, to be sure nothing is touching.

Welcome, sounds like you have the perfect state of mind for owning a spider :P

Will be a great deal of fun though, i could never part with my spider after the last 13 years of ownership!
