Hi,
I can barely get the ignition lead on the #4 plug correctly...
What's the secret-handshake-trick for removing, and even more-so, replacing, the #4 spark plug?
Thanks,
Mark

Sounds like you need new motor mounts and/or transmission mount. It should be easy to access. Try jacking up the trans to level the motor and gave you more room
1978 Spyder 1800 make that 2L! Finally making real progress!

I used the swivel joint also, don't think the plug could be removed without one.

Re: Number (#) 4 Spark Plug
With a universal joint and a 6-8 inch extension the plug should be no problem. The real bear however is getting the plug boot on and off. You can get what is known as spark plug boot pliers., there are several different designs

http://www.google.com/imgres?q=spark+pl ... =107&ty=87
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=spark+pl ... =116&ty=47

The pliers type can remove and install the wire boots, while the bent wire type usually only removes them. It may also help to remove the throttle linkage for more access.
