Center console heating up
Has anyone had the problem with the center console heating up on the side enough so that it is burns your bare leg? Not to the point that it blisters but you can't hold your leg on it. This is only as the car is mobil, it cools down quickly at every stop. In cooler weather it does not heat up at all. Thinking I need more insulation. What do y'all think ?

Re: Center console heating up
I just completed my flooring( POR15, padding, carpets etc) and it made an incredible difference with the sound and heat shield. I am getting lots of compliments in regards to no heat and how quiet Fiona is now. Check out my photo link for more details

Jay, I have seen all your pics and followed your threads. I want the insulation you have and I will make it happen. I just didn't know if this was common or if my trany was putting off more heat than what it should. You have done good work with your car and will have a jewel when complete. I just hate to have mine down long enough to work on it.

Re: Center console heating up
I found the same thing. Trans was good but I had a lot of heat on the passenger side trans tunnel. Then i fixed some rust in the floor with POR 15 and added a layer of insulation. This past weekend i drove it for about an hour and that area was not even warm to the touch. I did add a layer of insulation and then a very thin 3/16 layer of mold resitant carpet over top of the hump with a cut out for the shifter and some wires.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!
