Hello All,
Glad to be able to access such a great wealth of info. I had a beige 81 that I painted and fixed up in the early 90's, sold it to a guy that took it to Germany of all places. The wife and I have missed it ever since. My daughter heard all the stories, saw all the pics and wanted to fix one up, so her we are again. We found a 1979 Red, automatic. Bought from a gal in Olympia Washington that worked on it with her dad for the last 20 years.
Lots to do, but so far we've done the Radiator, Heater Core, Spark plugs, Cap & Rotor, Front Brakes, Bushings, Ball Joints, Shocks, Tie rods, Powder coated the Control Arms, fuel Filter, Oil Change, New Emergency Brake handel, Misc electircal problems, Door handle repairs, Tail Lights rust cleaning (now they work!!)
Yes got holes in the floors but the main thing I want to do is put on a new carb. Heard alot about the DGV, but just havent bought one yet, not sure about the linkage issues. The car went through DEQ with very little CO2 emissions and passed easily, I think the engine is ok except the dash says 54,000, I'm sure it's 154,000 miles so not sure if original motor.
Anyway, fun project going to have lots of questions.

Re: Second time around from Lake Oswego Oregon
Welcome! It sounds like you have already done a lot with your "new" Spider. This is an excellent site for lots of great advice. I've learned a lot over the past year that I have had my 124.
As for carburetor options the 32/36 DFEV comes highly recommended and that is what I put into my car. I got mine from Allison's Automotive and he set up my carb with the right linkage. The carb is also available from other vendors.
It is super to have another Oregon Spider (I am in Corvallis).
Post some pictures when you are able. We love to see pictures

Welcome! I am always glad to see new members close by. I am in NE Portland and days like today are the reason I got back into the Fiat club!!
