A-arm's in stock anywhere?

Post by burlyb »

Anyone know of any vendors with in stock complete a-arms? These things seem to be unobtanium.

Thanks.

Autoricambi's are all backordered. I may be able to piece them together from various vendors.

I can see why Fiat Plus has them in stock - they're $200 more for the set than anyone else.

Thanks.

I just bought uppers from Vick's, but the lowers are on back order, won't be in for a few months I am told.

Have you thought of re-bushing your own or perhaps getting a used set of a-arms and re bushing those? I have a set of A- arms and can get them re bushed with stock bushings I suspect.

Man, if the lead time is that long I may be re-bushing them myself. I can think of about a million things I'd rather do though.

In fact, I just ordered the individual bushings and bj's. My a-arms are pretty crusty, but they're pretty low mileage so they should be ok. I've never re-bushed a component without beating the complete piss out of it, so I'm not very optimistic of these wanting to come out after 30 years. Maybe it's time to finally buy a press.

Sorry about that. It's been a few years since I did this. I checked my invoice and it totaled $215 including shipping.
Still maybe worth a call to see if what he's asking is correct.

Try AW Imports on Route 35, Eatontown, NJ. Ask for Scott. He handles the Fiat parts. Tell him NJFIATS refered you

I got new upper and lowers for my '82 about two months ago from IAP. No supply issues.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I had big plans to do all kinds of resto work over the winter, but life intervenes. Should have stocked up ahead of time.

Anyway, I got bushings ordered and have lined up a press from a friend so I should be good to go.

I rebushinged mine with new ball joints in Feb and it was no big deal once I figured out where to hit the old bushing. That was the first time I had ever done this.
