My car can't be aligned
Re: My car can't be aligned
A month ago I purchased new bushings from IAP for my 1978 and the bushings were not the right size. The Charlotte Fiat mechanic I used to figure out the problem had the correct ones and installed those instead. The diameter of the bushing was too small and would not seat correctly in the A arm.

Re: My car can't be aligned
i bought a new lower control arm from iap and it came with ball joint and bushings $72.50
i just switched it out
i had delrin on it and the front mount split and cracked and carved its way into the delrin
the rubber bushing that came on the new aarm is a softer ride
and WILL FAIL so i keaped the delrin, but for now rubber on one lower side and delrin every where else

Re: My car can't be aligned
An update on my alignment problem. I took the car back to the alignment shop for a re-check. Turns out that the camber is in spec on one wheel, and a half degree out on the other. I can live with this, since I don't drive the car many miles per year. The caster cannot be adjusted, as there are no shims left to be removed on the lower a arms. The caster is .5%, and the spec is 2.67 to 3.67, which doesn't appear to effect the handling. The shop still thinks that the bushings are too soft, allowing the wheels to tilt in. IAP says they have sold hundreds of these bushings with no problems. The car drives and handles well, and I don't feel like re-doing the front end rebuild with polyeurathane ones, so I am going to live with the situation for now.

Sounds like a smart move. If it handles well and no tire wear I would leave it also.
