Slow Power Windows
It takes about 4-5 minutes for the power windows to go up. Any solutions?

Could you be more specific? Where are they grounded at? Do I reground them in the same spot?124JOE wrote:re ground them
Anyway, I messed around with the windows tonight and they are working a little better. Instead of 4-5 minutes, it is about 40-50 seconds for the windows to go up. I took the interor panels off and lubricated some of the pulleys and such. It is still making an awful sound when the window is going up. It is coming from the upper pulley that is the furthest forward. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Slow Power Windows
i dont have power windows
did you try tapping on the motors with a hammer?
these cars are known for bad grounds
if theres crosion at the mount it would cause a slow funtion
i think your problem may be in the pullys
try white lithium grease spray.its messy bring a rag and have the window up
work them pullys for 5 min straight,to work in the spray

Re: Slow Power Windows
The power windows are painfully slow even when working at their best. I had to realign the tracks to ensure there was no binding along the vertical window rails, use lithium on the mechanisms, clean the wiring and still they're slow by anyone's standards. They're better going down than going up. It sounds like you're getting closer though!

Re: Slow Power Windows
OK, good news and bad news. I've got the windows working pretty good. They go up in less than ten seconds. But, one of the cables is starting to fray. Any ideas on how hard that is to replace?
Thanks for all the help.
