Newby from Michigan

Post by simoboni »

Hello everyone,

This is Simone. I just bought a 1981 Spider 2000 FI. How many FIAT have I driven over the last 25 years? Well, a good number, since I was born and rised near Turin, Italy :D When I was a kid my dad used to drive a 124, and later a 132 and a Lancia 2000. Skipping the numerous FIAT small cars I have driven in the 80's and 90's, it deserves a mention the 1994 Alfa Romeo Spider I've sold right before moving to Michigan six years ago: good car, although way too heavy. I posted a few pictures of my Spider at

Looking forward to meeting you all soon!

Ciao Simone! Interesting, my dad had a 132 too, the third series, 1600 and 'Climatizzata' :-)
I always remembered that car fondly, even tho reviews I read later did not think it was a particularly good car.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! @rroller123, thanks! @Vandor, my dad's 132 was a 1800cc, eaten by rust in the 80's :) @81spidermatt, I live in South-east Michigan (Metro Detroit).

Welcome to Michigan. We are glad to have you here. We are lucky in this state that we have two Fiat Lancia Unlimited chapters, one in Detroit (FLUID) and one more to the west (WMFLU) centered around Grand Rapids.

Your car looks great. Hope you enjoy it with some other Fiat folks.

All the best
