First Spider, First Car

Hello folks, just thought I'd Introduce myself, my name is Brendan, I'm 16 and I have just purchased a 1981 Fiat Spider 2000. It's going to be my daily driver, my other car is a 1950 Dodge Coronet Sedan that I'm in the proscess of restoring, it's not in driving condition, and even when it is I highly doubt I'll be driving it often. I chose to get the Spider because life is so short and there aren't many times that having a fun car like the Spider is practical. The Fiat I've just bought is in running and in driveable condition, but it needs work (mostly body), the first thing I'm doing is installing a new top as it does need one badly, but you can garuntee that I'll be asking allot of questions in the near future. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

welcome to the dark side. my first car was a 68 850 spider. I knew if i didnt buy a convertable, i would kick myself everytime one drove by. That was 1969. I've owned a fiat continuously since. I'm currently restoring an 80 FI. They are sensational cars.

Are you sure you're only 16? 'cuz you sound more mature than me... and I'm.. like... thrice your age...

I bought my first Spider when I was 17, but it was my 4th car (not counting the crappy stuff my parents owned that I drove) so I already had some stuff to compare its' ownership to.
Needless to say, it was great owning a Spider, 'cuz I'm still addicted.

Shoot your questions out... we'll do everything we can to help out.
And someday you need to start a thread over in the Non-Fiat Related section about your Coronet build. that'd be fun to watch too. I also have a long history of muscle-car ownership, and even some racing, as do several others on this forum.
