Hello from Cobourg, Ontario
Hi, people. I have a '78 Spider, bought new, sole owner. Bought her from the father of the mechanic who has kept her on the road lo these many years. About a dozen years ago, she was repainted, but there is now rust showing up in abundance at the seams, at the fender curve, at the door edges, and so forth and so on. I will post to the Cosmetics thread, but meanwhile just wanted to introduce myself. I have also joined the Fiat Spider group on FB. Looking forward to chatting. Will post pics when I figure out how to do it to here. Oh, she's cream, red interior, black top, about 133K.

Hey Moira - welcome here. I noticed your FB post because I also have an original '78 Spider. I suggest looking for a reputable Italian-owned body shop, as I did, since they love these cars and should be happy to do the necessary work on yours for a fair price. Mine was repainted in 2006 at Milano Body in Ottawa and still looks great.

Peter and Jay: Doggone it, I lived in Ottawa for years, went to school there, but left in '67. So I hear what you're saying about finding an Italian place, there is one in Toronto but I have a feeling it will cost me a small fortune, and I'm not really interested in a show car, I'm not bringing everything back to like new condition,simply want a sound body and I'll clean up everything else. I hae a lot of research to do, that's fa shore. Thanks for the input.
