I am switching to an electronic ignition from a newer model on my 78 & thought I could just mount the new coil/heatsink to where the original coil mounted, the bolts line up just fine but there is no room for the wires to the ignition module when mounted there.
What solutions have you guys found? Just moving it over interferes with the wash fluid bag & I have the air pump valve bracket in the way to mount it like the 2000 models.
Should I just cut off that bracket & mount like the 2000 models or has anyone got any other ideas??? Pictures?

Re: where to mount the coil
If you no longer have the airpump valve then you could mount it on that bracket.

Re: where to mount the coil
That's not a bad idea Vandor, I will have to check hood clearance as that may mount it a little high, maybe make a bracket that lowers it & bolts to that bracket.
All that's left on that side of the engine compartment is the overflow tank in the back & the washer fluid bag at the front & that bracket which I don't mind cutting off.
Anyone have other ideas or examples of what you have done?
Here's a pic of pass engine comp empty (still original brown color)

Re: where to mount the coil
I just mounted mine inside, way up under the dash on the passenger-side. Basically behind the glove-box.
