considering another 124 after 20 years
considering another 124 after 20 years
hi; i'm Curt Lee, of Charleston SC, formerly of Lynchburg Va. i owned a pair of 124's twenty years ago and the spider has bitten again.... i'm looking at a '77 1800 which is fairly good for it's age and the area. i enjoyed the heck out of my 124 even though it had a balky 1st gear and a blown head gasket and had dodgy electricals which had me flummoxed at the time. i've had dozens of other cars since, including several BMW 2002's and a few MG's, so learning to fix things has become second nature.... i've been reading through all the forums i had access to here gleaning information that is leading me to seriously considering a deal on the '77 i've been eyeing.

Remember, buy the best car you can afford! Hopefully something that someone else has sunk way too much money into
There will still be things to fix

seems like the deal has fallen through, but i've had this happen with this seller before.... he might get tired of sitting on the 124 and come around. patience... i've checked the car over as thoroughly as i can and although it has some issues, they're not catastrophic in nature.

There are others out there looking for a good home. Don't give up! I've got a few little things to do to my 71 and it will be going up for sale if the weather just cools off a bit.
