dan,
You are personally responsible for a lot of things wrong in the world (yup, I talked to your wife).

but, breaking the internet is not one of those things.

relax, on this one.

I'd be willing to give up some of the bells and whistles, if that's what it takes to speed this thing up again. It's reminding me of the old days of dial-up internet connections, . . . or worse.

Evan, Mark, and ideas for why it is so slow???

is it my imagination, or has this situation improved lately?

I for one, have no idea what you guys are talking about. It only takes about 1-2 secs. for the next screen to appear, forward or backward. It may not be instantaneous, but close.
No slowdown!

I was quick to complain, but I never came back when I started noticing that it was working faster. I don't have problems now.

And mine seems to be better now, as well.

It seems to be running really fast for me... hopefully I didn't jinx it! Websites run like Italian cars they start having problems just seconds after you open your big mouth and say "Hey I think I've fixed everything!"

I dont want to start a computer war, but I have noticed some observations. Both of my brothers, a girlfriend and another friend all have Windows computers. They run Internet Explorer (latest or near latest version). When I use their computers to access this site, it is agony. I have to log-in 2 times. And I have to log-in 2 times on every one of their computers. Pages take too long to come up and to change to next screen. Its as if running in quicksand.

I have an Apple IMac and iPhone and surfing this site is painless and instantaneous. A page is displayed in a second after the click.

You guys running windows, is this the same experience that you are getting. Now I understand the above frustration.

Windows XP, here, version 2002. And Explorer 7.0. Everything runs really quick. No problems here! Was slow for me several months ago, and I don't know if that was on my end, or what. But it is just fine, now.

I always use mozilla Firefox. Sometimes it's with windows XP sometimes it's whatever my "Flavor of the month" Linux OS might be. Right now I'm using Sabayon and I kinda like it. I've used Opera as a browser but it never really took. I've been Mozilla bound for years now and just seem to prefer it over Explorer.
