Hello from France

Post by westy64 »

Hello everybody there !

I just bought a 1976 Fiat 124 SPIDER, called Prunette.
It is a US model, which has been boosted with a Ritmo 125 TC abarth engine, and sets of urethane bushings, by a former owner.
I bought it from an old rallyman who has much used and maintained it, so the car is in very good shape.
I am in the process of putting it back in its original shape, excepted for the dashboard which is black, and that I like as it is.
I am happy to join your community.
Photographs will come soon.
See you !

Wow ... she looks great, such clean lines ... i'm not keen on anything thats not original but yours looks really good and i think i like the black dash too. Mine is dirty brown Formica, which is so 1970's i was going to keep it.

Welcome on board, i've been really amazed at how helpful people are on this site.

Hello,
Soyez le bienvenu !

Nice car !
If, in the search to get your car original, you want to swap that 125TC engine, just give a call, I can provide an original
all american 1800 cc, with all the anti-pollution things included , for free (swap)

Do I see a Belgian license plate on the 3th picture ?
Do you intend to use it for Rallying too ?

groeten, geert.

Hello,
Merci pour votre offre, Geert.
You saw well, as PO found the car in Belgium (imported from Germany- I have the german papers), modified as it is now.
Unfortunately for you, my quest to the original does only apply to outside look, and from this point of view the 125 TC engine looks very much like a 1800 (without all EGR and other pollution stuff).
So thank you but not yet !

I will maybe rally once or twice a year (I never did), but I did not buy all rally equipment that was fitted to the car, such as tripmaster and additionnal lights.
