New to fiatspider.com
Hello all, I just registered to the forums and am very excited to be here. I am the proud owner of an '82 Spider and decided joining would be a great place to get input on maintaing, rearing, and modifying my Fiat. I've owned my Spider for about 3 weeks now and am loving it and I'm glad there is a community for people who share the same passion I do for fun, fast, and beautiful Italian classics.

Re: New to fiatspider.com
Welcome.
First rule is we want to see pictures of your car
You have definitely come to the right place for assistance, post up what you are having trouble with or intend to change. I would bet at least one of us has run into the same issue and can offer some suggestions for getting through them.
Where are you located (state or region) not being nosy its just that there are Fiat Lancia Unlimited chapters across the US and some in Canada so we could point you towards other enthusiasts or if someone is nearby they could lend you a hand.
All the best and looking forward to your participation on the forum.

Re: New to fiatspider.com
As my name implies, I am from Wisconsin. Specifically from Sheboygan County which is about an hour north of Milwaukee, however I am soon moving to Madison Wisconsin as I am a student at the university there. So far my car is running very smoothly, the previous owner kept it in fantastic condition and I haven't had any issues yet. As far as changes go, I am considering maybe doing a couple things in the interior, as well as maybe change out the front and rear bumpers. There isn't anything wrong with them, it's just that they are not quite my style and I would like something a little more minimalist. However, it may be a while until I have the time and resources to do any changes.
Thanks for the warm welcome,
Andrew

Also, so far that is the only picture I have of the car, but I do like to take photographs, so as soon as my sister is done borrowing my camera I will take some good pics of it.

I suspected your name was a clue to your location
Some great modifications on that car. Looks great. You are in the range of ChiFLU so don't be a stranger, its a great group and they really go the extra mile for their members.

i like the way you have installed a vertical style grill in the rectangular holes in the lower front fenders. looks cool? what did you use? also what is in the holes from the old bumper mounts?

Re: New to fiatspider.com
I actually bought the car that way. The last person who owned did a lot of custom work on the front. I suspect the grilles on the side are custom fabricated pieces of metal. The front bumper is mounted down near the bottom of the car, the previous owner cut some holes into the body work to mount it there which sucks because I'm considering putting bumperettes on and I don't think they'll cover up the new holes. As for the stock bumper holes, those are some aftermarket fog lights.

i want to eventually put bumperettes on mine but the cost has moved them to the back of the list. i'm actually trying to custom fit some bumperettes from my brothers triumph spitfire. he bought his online for way less than the spider ones

I know, I saw the Abarth ones were over 400 dollars. Tell me how that project goes, if it works I might try to do something like that.
