Replacing dash indicator lights
My oil pressure light has NEVER come on, even when I turn the key but don't start the car. I suspect it's burnt out. Do you have to get the gauge out of the dash to replace those, or can they be pulled out the back while the gauge is still in the car?

if you can get to the back of cluster, you can change it. I would pull the cluster out an 1" and find someone with long skinny fingers.

not a good bulb to have out if you have the warning light only rather than a pressure guage. Once fixed if that light comes on you should pull over quick and take a look at what is going on. The light came on once for me as a result of an oil leak. Lost about 2 quarts of oil in less than 400 miles before light came on.

I can reach under the dash and feel the socket. If I pull on it, does the bulb come out with it?azruss wrote:if you can get to the back of cluster, you can change it. I would pull the cluster out an 1" and find someone with long skinny fingers.

Re: Replacing dash indicator lights
To get at the back of the gauges, undo the 4 knurled bolts on the dash. Pull the wood frame out. At this point you'll realize there is dick for room so I undo/loosen the steering colum bolts (4 -13mm) The dash now comes out an additional several inches. You should now see the gauges are slid in from the front and there is a retaining bracket holding them in place. The lights are easily accessed when the dash is out and resting on the steering colum.

all the instrument light are slip in, so if you can reach it, it should pull right out.
