Not sure if you have seen the Mystery VIN thread but I have an 1980 model bit don't know the month, I am trying to piece the puzzle if a VIN that is near mine to get an aprrox month.
We have discovered that the 1979/1980 FI cars numbering system was a bit dubious??

I am a bit spotty in my response, my father had a major heart attack sinCe my purchase and he comes as a priority. Of course we all learn material possessions rank the lowest in the game of life.
He is doing so much better and my goal is take him for a nice drive!
