12 Volt Accessory Plug: Anyone installed one?
Am thinking it would be nice to have an accessory plug for a GPS or phone recharger, etc in the Spider. Has anyone put one in? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Like an extra cigarette lighter? I don't see why not. They do sell 3 way adapter for the cigarette lighter, so you can plug 3 things in.

Not sure what year your car is. On my 1981 there was an unused connector behind the radio console Fiat intended to be used for a power antenna switch. The red/black wire in that connector is "hot all the time" and fused from fuse 9 an 8 amp fuse. The other 2 wire in the plug are Dark blue/red and Light blue/white. I was able to pull this plug out on passenger side of console enough to splice into it for power for the power plug.
I would purchase a "Power Plug" not a cigar lighter. Cigar lighters have a spring in them that pushes what ever is plugged into out. Power plugs are designed to be used to supply power to GPS type devices.

I was lucky that I bought a stereo that has a USB port for both my phone(which will play my music as well) & GPS

My cigarette lighter socket works fine for power.

Just keep in mind that the lighter was designed to be a lighter and not a constant charge port. If someone has done this I'd like to see how they wired it and were they fused it. In theory it shold not be a difficult circuit.

i tapped into the existing wires of the cigarette lighter and mounted the accessory plug under the dash by the glove box. i removed the cigarette lighter completely cause i didn't use it.
